What is a Docent?:

A docent is a teacher.
The word "docent" comes from the Latin word "docere" which means teacher or educator.

What does a Docent do?:

Docents provide educational experiences through presentations and exhibit interpretation with live animals and other materials.

How do you become a Docent?:

Complete our 36 hour training program.
Commit to volunteer more than 60 hours each year.

TRAINING DATES

There are two training sessions meeting either Tuesday evening or Thursday morning with several joint sessions on the weekend for both groups. Please indicate which training session you prefer. Please note that the sessions may be combined if enrollment is low.

Thursday Evenings from 6PM - 9PM

Afternoons from 12:30pm - 3:30pm
