Calendar Photo Contest

Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden is looking for photographs to use in a 2009 monthly calendar. The calendar will highlight the zoo's beauty by featuring 12 full-page photos of some favorite animals mixed with a splash of color from our Botanic Garden. 

Mesker Park Zoo is now conducting a photo contest for a 2009 calendar. The winning photographers will have their photo and name featured in the calendar. Photos will be accepted from now through Nov 1, 2008. Judging will be done by a panel of zoo employees, several judges having professional photography in their backgrounds.

You may purchase your 20o9 calendar and future calendars through http://www.meskerparkzoo.com. All proceeds benefit Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden. We want our 2009 calendar to be even bigger and better so don't monkey around taking boring photo's - Go out on a limb (figuratively speaking) and get creative! Support your home town zoo by sending in your photo's today!

Calendar Photo Contest Rules:
  • ONLY ONE ENTRY PER PERSON
  • Only photographs will be accepted, either color or black and white. Printed photos should be unmounted 5” x 7” professionally processed photos or larger. Digital photos should be JPEG or TIFF format and must be at least 150 dpi but 300 dpi is strongly preferred. No Emailing of Photos. Digital photos must be on disc and either mailed to Mesker Park Zoo or dropped off at the front gate.
  • Photographs become the property of Evansville Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden once they have been submitted. No photographs will be returned.
  • The contest is open to anyone, except Mesker Park Zoo employees.
  • Photos from all seasons are encouraged. Historical photo's will be accepted but only by the original photographer or with written consent.
  • No compensation will be offered to winning photographers or for photos used elsewhere by the zoo. Winning entries will be used in the 2009 calendar.
  • Photos must be received by Nov. 1, 2008. They should be marked to the attention of “Calendar Photo Contest - Charlotte Roesner” and may be brought to the front gate of Mesker Park Zoo, or mailed to Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden, Calendar Photo Contest, 2421 Bement Ave., Evansville, IN 47720. 
  • Your name must be clearly printed on the back of the photo or on the digital medium. An official entry form must accompany your entry.
