Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden is excited to offer workshops designed to give Tiger Cubs, Cubs, Wolf, and Weblo scouts the opportunity to earn their Wildlife Conservation belt loop and academic pin. During the 2 hour program scouts will discuss our natural resources, animal classifications, meet an Egyptian Tortoise that is critically endangered as well as some of our animal ambassadors that are masters of camouflage.
Role playing gets the boys involved in a food web and allows them to experience the importance of each organism within an ecosystem. A 30 minute service project is also included in the activities. Using the most amazing classroom in town (the zoo), scouts discuss how to share what they’ve learned and make a difference in our world.
