How do I become a Docent?
- Complete the Docent Application and submit to email@example.com.
- Attend a Docent Recruitment informational meeting, offered several times a year. Interview with staff and docents. Interviews will be conducted after application is received and after attending an informational meeting, and before the next docent class begins.

- Interview with staff and docents. Interviews will be conducted after application is received and after attending an informational meeting, and before the next docent class begins.
- Complete our new volunteer training course, which includes both classroom and outdoor sessions and informal training with a mentor. A new docent training class is offered twice a year, at the beginning and midway through each year. You can begin as a docent with as little as 10 hours of training, and you are considered an active volunteer status with at least 20 hours service each year. Docents can choose to serve at various levels, and are qualified for those levels based on training time and cumulative volunteer hours served.
Applications are accepted year-round.
Level 1 Training Classes are held in February and September.
